Screen Snapshots Work?
To give you a

Email Activity
With Spector
Pro, a copy of every email
sent or received with ANY email program is
automatically saved to a hidden location.
Even
when they delete their email, Spector Pro will keep a copy for you to
review.
To review the email recordings, simply click on the
Email Activity tab and Spector Pro will list all of the incoming and
outgoing emails. See whether the email was sent or received, who sent
it, who received it, the subject of the email, and the time and date the
email was sent or received.
With a click of a button, all emails can be viewed
by Sender, Recipient, Subject and Time/Date. Click on a specific email,
and you will see
the contents of the email. With Spector Pro, you
even
have the option of recording email attachments.
It’s easy to look at all the emails received on a
particular date or all the emails sent to or received from a particular
person, all with one or two clicks.
Spector Pro records Outlook email (Earthlink,

Program Activity
Spector Pro
provides the ability to record every program (or application) run on the
computer you are monitoring. For each program, Spector Pro will capture
the name of the person who used the program, when the program was
started and how long the program was running. In addition, Spector Pro
will provide even more useful information, such as how much time the
program was ACTIVELY used. Were your kids playing games all afternoon
instead of doing homework? Was a program simply opened and left
on-screen, an indication someone might be trying to deceive you into
thinking they were working all day in Word and Excel (when they were

Keywords Detected
One of the
most powerful features of Spector Pro is its advanced Keyword Detection
and Alerts. Create a list of "on alert" words or phrases and Spector Pro
will continually monitor keyboard typing, URLs, web pages, incoming and
outgoing emails, chat conversations and instant messages for these
offending words or phrases.
When a keyword or phrase is detected, Spector Pro
immediately jumps into overdrive. Screen Snapshot frequency is
automatically increased to ensure that every detail of the offender’s
actions are recorded. Additionally, Spector Pro collects information
regarding the offending words and sends you an instant keyword alert via
email.
Each keyword alert contains the following
information:
1. The keyword that was detected
2. The time the keyword was detected
3. The current user logged in to Windows
4. Additional detailed information (Example: the
URL where the keyword was found)
You tell Spector Pro which words and phrases to
watch out for - for example, "sex," “drugs,” “guns,” "phone number,"
"where do you live," "are your parents home," "I hate my boss" -
whatever YOU decide to include. You also tell Spector Pro where to send

What is the difference between Spector Pro, Spector and eBlaster? Which
product is right for me?
Let's assume that you are a parent who wants to
monitor the Internet activity of your children and that you will be
installing on the computer your children use.
If you have access to this computer frequently, and can check the
computer for a few minutes once or twice a day to see what you children
have been doing online, then Spector is probably the more appropriate
product for you because it will be able to SHOW you in EXACT detail what
they have been doing. (E-mails, chat conversations, instant messages,
web sites visited, keystrokes typed -- Spector records all of this by
continually taking snapshots of what is on the computer screen and
allowing you to play back these snapshots at your convenience.)
On the other hand, if you will only have occasional access to the
computer your children use, and yet you want to see basic reports of the
web sites they are visiting and transcripts of their chat sessions, then
eBlaster is likely the more appropriate product for you.
That is because eBlaster records chat conversations, keystrokes typed
and the names of web sites visited and can notify you via e-mail as
frequently as every 30 minutes. So, if you are at work for many hours a
day while your children are home from school using the Internet, then
you can automatically be notified via e-mail what they are doing.
Many of our customers choose to get BOTH Spector and eBlaster because
they want the convenience of the detailed snapshots that Spector
provides, but they ALSO want to know when at work what their children
are doing online at home, and they don't want to wait until they get

Will Spector Pro work on my PC?
Yes, as long as you are running Windows XP, Windows Me, Windows 98,
Window 2000 or Windows NT 4 or above and have a Pentium-based CPU
running at 150 MHz or faster.

How much memory is appropriate for Spector Pro?
Spector Pro will run with 32M of memory, but we suggest 64M of memory or
more for optimal performance.

How much disk space does Spector Pro take?
This depends on many factors, such as how frequently you set Spector Pro
to save your screen snapshots, whether you save in full color or 4-bit
grayscale, and how many days you allow Spector Pro to record before
automatically getting rid of files. It also depends on how heavily you
use your PC.
A typical 8-hour day of recording will take about 10-20M of hard disk
space.

How does Spector Pro protect my child from Internet pedophiles?
While Spector cannot stop all pedophiles from going after children on
the Internet, it provides a great deterrent, and allows you to be aware
that such activity has been attempted.
One of the biggest deterrents to pedophiles is getting caught. If a
pedophile has an online conversation with your child, Spector Pro will
record that conversation. If the pedophile divulges their phone number
or address, you will see that in Spector Pro.
If you see that your child has had such a conversation, you will be able
to take the appropriate action to stop that from happening in the
future. Further, if a pedophile suspects that he/she is being recorded,
they will quickly move on to another target. As more and more people use
Spector Pro, pedophiles will begin to notice, and most likely stop going
after children, at least on the Internet.

Should I inform my employees or others that they are being monitored?
Yes.
The SpectorSoft software license agreement requires that you inform
anyone you may monitor with SpectorSoft products.

When installed in Stealth mode, Spector Pro does not show up as an icon,
